Meet Dr. Dotson
Dr. Darren Dotson is originally from the Iowa Great Lakes Area and has practiced in Spirit Lake since 2003. He graduated from Okoboji High School in 1994. He attended Buena Vista University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He went on to attend the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Dotson is a member of the Iowa Dental Association as well as the American Dental Association. He prides himself on patient education and offers treatment options to suit the needs and desires of his patients.
Dr. Dotson lives in Spirit Lake with his wife and two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, competitive sailing, hunting, fishing, and spending as much time outdoors and on the water as possible.

Meet Dr. Hartzell
Dr. Amy Hartzell was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa, and graduated from Spencer High School in 1998. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006. Upon graduation, Dr. Hartzell joined a dental office in Sioux City, Iowa, where she practiced until moving to the lakes area and joining Dr. Darren Dotson in June of 2011.
Dr. Hartzell is a member of the Dickinson County Dental Society, the Iowa Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hartzell stays busy with her three daughters and enjoys running, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
